Civilian Volunteer Corps
Global Citizens at their Finest
Global Citizens at their Finest
Globcal International began the reintroduction of a Volunteer Corps in 2017 for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Volunteer Corps program allows those who have made a commitment, declaration, or pledge by registering as a non-state global citizen to work with us online and in-the-field as tourists and special visitors to destinations where we are developing or forming international missions.
Generally volunteer positions are not for people that simply do not have money who are looking for benefits or privileges, but for those who have their own resources and are looking for adventure and/or experience as interns or travelers with a benevolent purpose.
As of January 2020 all volunteers are required to qualify with Globcal International to become acknowledged as a volunteer since we have officially affiliated ourselves under our parent organization Ecology Crossroads Cooperative Foundation, founded in Kentucky in 1994.
Since we began Globcal International in 2009 we have always had those who consider themselves volunteers of the organization involved in social justice advocacy, promotion of human rights, environmental defense, and civil reform activism using the social media. Several of our first promoters are either supporters or legacy members that behold volunteer status. See the complete list here.
Volunteers, interns and international exchange workers pay their own way to arrive and leave international mission destinations. Generally volunteers and interns must 'contribute' to the cost of food, transportation, and accommodations on a per program basis. Currently there are several programs that have been detailed which include fully expense paid working vacations from $300-$700 per month. Programs often depend on availability and private sponsorship coordinated by the volunteer.
Volunteers can apply for and earn stipends from partnership sponsors from within their own country or state with local goodwill ambassador scholarships. Stipends can range widely and are applied per discipline and real-life documentation as a protagonist and trustworthy volunteer. Stipends range from $30-$90 a week based on well-presented photographic, video, and written documentation provided by volunteers for the work they have performed.
In order to be a volunteer member of the organization a person must first become registered as a non-state global citizen.
